I started noticing about a week or two ago little hairs all over the back of Lilah's neck. Then I'd notice them on her changing table, in the crib, and I had to conclude.... she's loosing her hair. And sure enough she's got two developing bold spots, each on the side of her head. So now she has this Mohawk looking thing, or at least it looks like a mohawk when I stand it straight up, or I can make it Alfalfa style. Bill says when I comb it, it looks like a comb over, he suggested I cut it, but I told him you don't cut kids hair till they are at least one, he asked me why, I had no answer, isn't this true, or is it some old wives tale i've taken to heart through the years?

Nonetheless, if our little doll goes bald, she'll still be beautiful. And if she's still got the mohawk at Halloween
, we just may spray paint it hot pink and let her be a punk rocker!

you can cut their hair before a year but most don't. I don't think I cut Brianna's until after a year because she was pretty much bald. Bri had a bald spot on the back of her head.

I love reading updates on Lilah!

Hello, I'm just a PAP who happened to find your blog while y'all were in Vietnam. I started reading because you are from GA. My husband and I live in the Warner Robins area. I just wanted to say hi and tell you that Lilah looks just adorable with the mohawk!

You are the mommy, you can cut her hair whenever you want. In Miami, most of the spanish population have to cut their kids' hair early simply because they have so much of it! I think you should stick it out with the mohawk, it gives her attitude ;-)
Love you, Les

Too cute!! I love that last picture with that huge grin!!! I have always heard that you wait until a year to cute their hair, but I do not know why. Lilah is so precious. Love you, Kat

you can cut their hair before they are a year old...actually it grows back more evenly and nicer if you do!! :)

This is really typical. Especially with her body adjusting to new minerals and foods.

She'll be fine and cute no matter what! I had to cut part of Bailey's hair before he was one. He had this piece that hung way down in the front and it totally looked like an old man's comb-over. Lilah is precious! Love those cheeks!Holler

That's funny,it's because you grew up in Georgia that you think this about the hair. I was told by a whole salon full of stylists they would not touch my son's hair until he was one. This was in Madison:) That's where I grew up. I was just telling my husband about this the other day, he rolled his eyes and laughed at me. Hard to give up those kinds of things, huh?

I am so excited to be officially posting. My sister is in China right now helping three families bring home their little girls and has been blogging. Needless to say it forced my hand to learn how to do this. Silly I know...it is actually really easy. Anyway, I love catching up with you guys periodically. It is amazing how similar Lilah and Ann Elise are with their chubby cheeks, bald spots, and other cute things. It is fun to hear your take on things, I have laughed out loud many times thinking she must have a hidden camera at my house :) Ann Elise's bald spot is finally growing in so there is hope. I love Lilah's name by the way! Talk to you again soon. :) Beth
